Then, in a twist of fate, Higgins’ story took a heartworrming turn. Brendon Reed, a compassionate 22-year-old, stumbled upon Higgins’ photo and heard his story online. In that moment, Reed knew that Higgins was the dog he had been searching for. The connection was undeniable, and he couldn’t bear the thought of Higgins spending another day without a loving family.
Walking into the shelter and saying, “I’m here to take Higgins home,” Reed surprised everyone, especially Diana Renner, a shelter worker who had known Higgins for years.
